Which is better Ruby lamp or Gold lamps?

Both the ruby and gold lamps have there specific uses and applications but the main difference between the both of them is that if you opt for the gold type lamps this will reduce the glare of the lamp the most and get rid of the red light. The ruby lamp offers similar performance but with a red background light. Some enviroments may not find this desirable. Without the gold coating or the ruby tube design, infrared lamps will give off as much light as a halogen outdoor lamp.
