These silicone heaters are specially designed to offer superior energy efficiency over standard formed rod heating elements. They are of a high watt density design. They are fitted with temperature limiters designed to protect the heaters from overheating should the water level evaporate below the safe working minimum.
Where are bain-marie heat mats used?
Bain-marie heat mats are used under bain-marie heating counters to keep food warm. Normally formed heating elements are typical twice the power rating of their silicone heater counterpart, and as the element surface contact is limited, it will reduce the efficiency even further. We would recommend using these heating elements as a best practice as they are better for the environment and reduce the users operating costs.
Float level switches are recommended to prevent water levels from falling below suitable levels; see link here.
