Ceramic Infrared Elements are far-wave infrared and are used in thermoforming machines, ovens for drying and curing parts warming applications. Typical applications are vacuum/thermoforming machines, shrink wrapping lines, paints and ink drying and water evaporation. Others are industrial and commercial space heating for heaters such as the Dimplex CXD and food warming stations.
Under Control Instruments, provides a full range of Ceramic infrared element long-wave infra-red elements. All our ceramic elements have CE and UL approvals, so quality is assured.
Ceramic Infrared heater elements are energy efficient, converting 96% of the input power to heat and a maximum temperature of 700ĀŗC. Standard wattages from 150w to 1000w, 240v, other voltage options available on request.
We also have accessories, including high-temperature cables, ceramic blocks and energy regulators.
They are available in 2 standard sizes 245 x 60mm and 125 x 60mm. They have a curved profile and emit far wave infrared heat. The sun emits this type of wave pattern so is more gentle and is suitable for warming through an object, unlike short wave, which is more intense.
If you need a quicker heat-up time then why not consider our quartz elements instead? They are medium-wave and so will heat up faster bust most importantly fit in the same footprint as ceramic elements. Available in full-size or half-size versions.
We recommend using our contactless thermocouple sensors for accurate temperature control.

Great find!, changed from my previous supplier.

I needed four replacement heating elements for my vacuum former, My first try was RS which turned up suitable compatible heaters. However a Google search turned up undercontrol.co.uk at a substantially more affordable price. I ordered four elements, they arrived next day. The items were very well packed but one boxed element had clearly been dropped on a corner at some stage before packing, a little inconvenient and annoying for me, but a phone call and a photo got me a replacement which again arrived next day well packed. Overall a good experience for a first time customer.
One tip, don’t use their web page email me form, it goes nowhere, you have to ring sales directly to resolve problems.
