Theromopile, VOLTAGE RATING (>750mV); INNER RESISTANCE: around 4.0 O, 2-36" Lead wire with a glassfibre tube coated + 7/16-27UNS crew nut.
9x66mm probe.
Gas Thermopiles are similar to gas thermocouples but are several thermocouples in one which gives a higher voltage for control.
These devices appear in numerous applications, including appliances such as gas control valves and fireplaces, commercial boilers, and gas fryers. Understanding the differences between a thermopile and a thermocouple requires an understanding of the differences between these two devices.
There are three obvious differences that exist between. Most obviously is that thermopiles contain a series of interconnected thermocouples, meaning that technically speaking any device using thermopiles contains thermocouples and generates more electricity and is generally speaking more accurate and sensitive in temperature reading than thermocouples so are more preferred on more sensitive applications.
