Piezo Ignitors are a type of ignition that is used in stoves and gas grills. They use the principle of piezo-electricity, which, in short, is the electric charge that accumulates in some materials in response to high pressure. They are made of a small spring-loaded hammer which, when a button is pressed creates a voltage. The sudden forceful action produces a high voltage and electrical discharge, which ignites the gas.
